That’s not a value judgment on either the Rockies or the Phillies: I didn’t have a dog in that fight (a fight that just ended with a 5-4 Phillies win, by the way). But I would have liked to see a deciding Game 5, because those, as the Wall Street Journal’s The Fix reminded us this morning, are exceedingly rare these days:

↵↵If Philadelphia wins in Denver to close out the series in four games, an ignominious postseason streak will continue for another year. Since the New York Yankees and Los Angeles Angels played a decisive Game 5 in 2005 — won by the Angels — no best-of-five series has gone the distance, a streak of 15 series.
↵↵As we now know, that streak is going to 16. Bummer.
