CBS Sports Fantasy Mailbag: Thinking About Trading?

Scott White, in his Dear Mr. Fantasy mailbag column for CBS Sports, gives out all kinds of trade advice. A good read if you’re in the trade market in your league. For example:

I’m trying to right the ship. Somehow I wound up 2-3 with a stacked team. My running backs are Willis McGahee, Chris Johnson, Pierre Thomas and Cedric Benson. My wide receivers are Randy Moss, DeSean Jackson, Roddy White, Derrick Mason and Mario Manningham. I’m trying to trade DeSean Jackson and Chris Johnson for Marshawn Lynch and Larry Fitzgerald. Am I making the right move? — Jarrod Rager, Greeley, Colo.
To me, this trade comes down to Johnson vs. Fitzgerald, running back vs. wide receiver, late first-rounder vs. late first-rounder.

Johnson and Fitzgerald offer similar Fantasy production, so the question is whether you need a running back or wide receiver more. Since you already can’t get Jackson or Manningham into your lineup, I think you know the answer.

Stick with the running back. Stick with Johnson.

Solid advice. But you got to love the opening of the question. Somehow I wound up 2-3 with a stacked team. With those RB’s and WR’s, he must have been playing Jamarcus Russell at QB.
