
Tyson and Holyfield to Meet on Oprah

↵Clearly buoyed by the ratings and the attention Mike Tyson’s appearance↵on Oprah garnered on Monday, it’s been announced that on Friday Tyson↵will return, and this time he’ll be joined by his former nemesis (and↵human snack), Evander Holyfield.↵
↵
↵On Monday’s show, when asked about Holyfield, Mike said that the↵two of them had seen each other here and there over the years, but↵never really met or talked about what happened between them in the↵ring. Tyson said that he’d always want to shake his hand and apologize↵for biting his ear off in their 1997 rematch, but that there were↵always other people around and the time never felt right.↵

↵And Oprah, with her fail-safe radar for contrived emotion, said to herself, “Oh word?”↵
↵
↵I wrote a pretty emotional piece↵about Tyson on Oprah that I ran here at The Rumble on Tuesday, and that↵piece got a lot of attention and prompted many comments and emails to↵me. On a few levels, I feel like the piece was misunderstood, the main↵one being the idea that because I wrote this kind of material about↵Tyson being on Oprah, that I really liked the show, or like this kind of entertainment in general.
