Pedro Martinez Should Never Be Removed From a Game Under Any Circumstances

Pitching in the postseason for the first time in five years, Pedro Martinez has turned in a magnificent performance for the Phillies today. His line: seven innings pitched, no runs, two singles, no walks.

↵Then, manager Charlie Manuel apparently decided to make the game interesting, as he trotted out Chan Ho Park (who is only the second-best pitcher of our generation) to start the eighth. The Phillies have lost their precarious 1-0 lead, and the Dodgers now have the bases loaded. This is why Pedro Martinez should never, ever, ever be pulled from a game. What? Who’s Grady Little? Sorry, I prefer not to reflect on things that happened more than four seconds ago.
