Just a few minutes ago, Bobby Abreu hit what probably would have been a triple, had Abreu not held up between second and third in an attempt to get back to second base. Derek Jeter wheeled around and saw Abreu hustling back to the bag; he threw the ball to Yankees first baseman Mark Teixeira to get Abreu out. So not only did Bobby make a horrendous baserunning error, he -- as Fox’s broadcast just informed us -- becomes only the second player in MLB playoffs history to be the victim of an 8-6-3 put-out. The last one was in 1951.
