I realize Eamonn just touched on Abreu’s inexcusable baserunning gaffe in the 8th inning of tonight’s Game 3, but a mistake of this magnitude deserves piling on.
Abreu Makes Most Impressive Baserunning Mistake Of Postseason

↵Consider this: Abreu would have been on second with no outs in the bottom of the 8th of a tied game. Runners in scoring position with no outs score 38% of the time, according to a statistic I just made up. If he does score, Angels closer Brian Fuentes then needs to get three outs in the 9th (as he ended up doing) and the series is 2-1.
↵But, as it stands now, the Yankees are still in the ballgame. And if they win, the series is 3-0. Which means the series is over.

And it is ALL Abreu’s fault.
