The Buffalo Bills haven't just been bitten by the injury bug this season -- they've been attacked by a swarm of killer African injury bugs, out to dismantle an already sub-par team, player-by-player.
A New Slate Of Injuries Adds To Bills’ Woes
The team has already lost LB Kawika Mitchell, LB Marcus Buggs, CB Leodis McKelvin, TE Derek Schouman and RT Brad Butler to season ending injuries. Standout defensive players Paul Posluszny and Donte Whitner have missed two games each with a broken forearm and broken thumb respectively.
Unfortunately for the Bills, this weekend was more of the same on the injury front. Most important and most serious of the injuries was Trent Edwards' concussion. This is Edwards' second concussion in as many years, and with concussions, the more a player gets, the more serious and potentially career threatening they become. Also injured on Sunday were DT Kyle Williams (shoulder), S Donte Whitner (again ... ankle this time), TE Shawn Nelson (concussion), and CB Terrence McGee (chest), none of whom returned to the game. LB Paul Posluszny also left the game with an injury, returned later and struggled.
Yet through all of this they still have two wins. Which, all things considered, isn’t that awful.
