The Rays’ B.J. Upton needed only five innings to hit a single, double, triple, and home run, making him the eighth player this season to hit for the cycle. The 12-1 rout of the Yankees is only in the sixth inning at the moment. Maybe he can do it again and hit for the automobile.
B.J. Upton Hits for Cycle
↵News outlets will surely report that Upton is the first Ray to ever hit for the cycle, but I’d like to quash that notion: Ray Shalk hit for the cycle in 1922, and Ray Lankford did so in 1991.
