Albert Pujols To Have Surgery On Elbow Wednesday

Fox Sports insider Ken Rosenthal is reporting that Albert Pujols is scheduled to have surgery on his right elbow on Wednesday to have bone spurs removed:

Pujols is expected to be fully recovered by the start of spring training.

Wednesday's surgery will be performed by Cardinals team physician George Paletta and Dr. James Andrews in Birmingham, Ala.

This shouldn’t be a concern to Cardinals fans at this point and Pujols will be leading the National League in everything come next July, but MLB.com threw in this nugget to give worry to St. Louis faithful :

There's a chance he still could need Tommy John elbow ligament replacement surgery at some point in his career.

Let’s just cross that bridge when we get to it, mkay?
