Who is the better flex receiver play this week….Sidney Rice at Pittsburgh or Jeremy Maclin at Washington? – Jim
More Q&A: The T.O. Dilemma
You have to go with Sidney Rice. He’s become one of Brett Favre’s favorite targets. The Vikings are a team that will score points, and Favre still has the ability to get the ball deep. Rice is replacing Bernard Berrian as the Vikings deep-threat receiver. In three of the last four weeks, Rice has posted double-digit fantasy points in most leagues. Meanwhile, Jeremy Maclin has only had one strong week of fantasy play and the Eagles offense is sputtering. They can’t run the ball, teams are playing the pass and last week they could only put up 9 points on the Raiders. As for the matchup, Rice’s opponent, Pittsburgh, actually gives up more fantasy points to WRs than does Maclin’s (Washington). Go for Rice.
Which Colts’ WR is the better start against the Rams: Pierre Garcon or Austin Collie? – Andy
Garcon got off to the quicker start once Anthony Gonzalez went down with injury. But a close examination of his stats show that he’s never caught more than three passes in a game – his numbers are the result of scoring a TD in two games, and his few catches are usually for a long distance. Austin Collie has made the stronger push lately and has caught six and eight passes in the past two games, along with 3 TDs. He’s being targeted by Peyton Manning more than Garcon and is producing. That says that Collie is the stronger play right now.
Who are the top kick returners in the NFL according to fantasy points? – Chris
Josh Cribbs, Jacoby Jones, Eddie Royal, Percy Harvin, Sammy Stroughter and Johnny Knox have all returned kickoffs for TDs. Darren Sproles, Josh Cribbs, Stefan Logan, Danny Amendola and Percy Harvin are the top 5 in total yards
For punt returns, Darren Sproles, Johs Cribbs, Eddie Royal and DeSean Jackson all have returns for TDs. The top 5 in total yards are Josh Cribbs, Jacoby Jones, Quan Cosby, Eddie Royal and DeSean Jackson.
I’ve been holding onto Terrell Owens hoping that he’ll eventually become a factor in the Bills offense but is it time to drop him and find a better option? – Chuck
This is one of the difficult decisions for fantasy owners. You drafted a guy high expecting production and he turns out to be a total dud for six weeks. You know that if you drop him, someone will pick him up, and then you constantly worry that he’ll finally break out. You suffered his dud-ness for six weeks, why should someone else all of a sudden enjoy his production (if it ever comes) with just a waiver wire pick up? Its torture, I tell you. My advice – see if you can’t use his name in trade talks. Let him be the throw-in guy in a trade, where he’s not the main player. If someone is balking at a trade with you because they don’t think they’re getting enough in return, try adding T.O. to the mix somehow. That way, you at least feel like you got something back in value. He’s not the WR he once was, but you have to believe he’ll start putting up some stats eventually.
