Tim Sylvia To Fight on DREAM’s New Years Eve Card

Tim Sylvia has verbally agreed to make his Japanese MMA debut for DREAM on New Year’s Eve. Sylvia’s agent Monte Cox confirmed the news with FanHouse.

While Cox said Sylvia has been proposed fights against Strikeforce heavyweight champion Alistair Overeem and Hong Man Choi, he thinks it would make more sense to have “The Maine-iac” fight the Korean giant.

While Hong Man Choi is certainly a limited MMA fighter he is no more limited than Ray Mercer who disposed of Sylvia quickly. It will be interesting to see how Sylvia handles another giant who can strike with significant power. Sylvia’s earlier giant vs. giant fights (against Gan McGee and Wes Sims respectively) didn’t feature guys with quite the same level of one shot power as Choi.
