Patriots WR Julian Edelman Suffers Broken Arm

According to a report in the Boston Herald, Patriots rookie wide receiver Julian Edelman suffered a broken arm late in the blowout win against the Titans.

Edelman, a rookie from Kent State, where he played quarterback, is currently third on the team with 21 receptions. He’s also returned seven kicks for a 22.4-yard average, and six punts for for 63 total yards.

On his final play Sunday, Edelman caught a 4-yard pass, was tackled and fell on his right arm. He was not at the team's practice on Tuesday. Edelman's injury, combined with the Patriots releasing WR Joey Galloway, means New England now has only three healthy wideouts -- Randy Moss, Wes Welker and Sam Aiken.

Before the rumormongers start speculating that the Pats are getting ready to make a big trade (looking at you, Adam Schefter), Bill Belichick has already said the team will most likely "fill those spots from within," with Brandon Tate expected to be activated from the non-football injury list (he was seen fielding punts in practice on Tuesday) or Terrence Nunn, who could be called up from the practice squad.
