Anthony Johnson Talks Missing Weight

Welterweight Anthony Johnson (who missed weight by 5 pounds last night) discussed the issue with Heavy.com:

↵↵Heavy.com: Was this the first time you tried to cut from 220?

↵Anthony Johnson: Yeah, I never get that high. That’s the heaviest I’ve ever been in my life. But I got an injury when I was getting ready for Matt Brown, I hurt my knee again. When you get injured, you don’t do much. You sit around and eat and get fat. That’s exactly what I did.

↵↵Johnson is a big 170 pounder and is now talking about moving up to middleweight. He has never missed weight when having a full camp before and I’d suggest that he is likely to be much better off to stay at 170 if he can make the cut then move up and lose being a bigger man in his division.
