This is a huge blow for the Vikings’ secondary, which will already have a difficult time trying to stop Ben Roethlisberger and the league’s best passing offense: Their top cornerback, Antoine Winfield, is very doubtful to play today. And, according to ESPN, he could be out for a month:
Winfield Unlikely To Play Week 7 Against Steelers
ESPN’s Adam Schefter said during the Sunday morning SportsCenter that Vikings cornerback Antoine Winfield arrived in Pittsburgh still wearing a walking boot on the foot he sprained last week against the Ravens. Winfield is doubtful for today’s game against the Steelers, and not likely to play.
ESPN’s Chris Mortensen reports that Winfield could miss a month because of the injury.
If so, he’d miss only three games, since the bye comes on November 8.
UPDATE: And just as we posted this, Adam Schefter tweets that Winfield is officially out. Hopefully you aren’t playing against Ward or Roethlisberger today.
