U.S. men’s national team wunderkind Jozy Altidore began his English soccer sojourn a bit rockily today: Despite being up bright and early — and tweeting as much — early this morning, Altidore showed up late to his match with Hull City today. He issued a public apology 40 minutes before game time via Twitter, which he later deleted. Meaning the U.S.‘s best young player hurt his chances of making his European project a success, and then tweeted about it, thus making his manager Phil Brown even angrier than he was in the first place. There isn’t a single good idea in the whole story. Sigh.
