Tito Ortiz vs. Forrest Griffin Confirmed As UFC 106 Main Event

In the wake of Brock Lesnar pulling out of UFC 106 due to illness the UFC has confirmed that the Tito Ortiz vs. Forrest Griffin fight which was previously listed as the top undercard fight will slide into the main event spot.

While Griffin vs. Ortiz certainly represents a fight between two recognizable fighters it doesn’t hold up in all areas where a typical UFC main event is concerned. Tito has not won a fight since October of 2006 going 0-2-1 during that span while Forrest Griffin is on a two fight losing streak, including his last fight where Griffin put on an embarrassingly bad performance against Anderson Silva.
