Earlier today the news came out that Sarah Kaufman vs. Takayo Hashi is off the upcoming “Strikeforce Challengers” event. The hits to the Strikeforce women just keep coming as now we hear that the highly anticipated bout between Erin Toughill and Marlos Coenen is off the November 7 Fedor vs. Rogers card. MMAJunkie with the news:
Erin Toughill Off Strikeforce: Fedor vs. Rogers Card
A preliminary card bout between Erin Toughill (10-2-1) and Marlos Coenen (16-3) – one likely to determine a No. 1 contender for champion Cristiane “Cyborg” Santos – has been scrapped from the Nov. 7 “Strikeforce: Fedor vs. Rogers” card.
Toughill pulled off the bout for an undisclosed medical reason, her camp confirmed with MMAjunkie.com.
This is an unfortunate turn of events as a clear challenger for Cyborg needed to be established. Fans have short memories and her demolition of Gina Carano is quickly fading away. They have to get her in the cage soon or risk really losing all the momentum she had going.
