Steve Nash’s ‘Old White Guy’ Shot

Last night the NBA came back in full swing, and with a full slate of games, of course, came game-winning shots. In Minnesota, Damien Wilkins hit a leaning layup to beat the Nets, while in L.A., Phoenix prevailed in the final seconds thanks to (who else?) Steve Nash.

After the game, Nash talked about the miracle shot. From AOL Fanhouse:

↵

↵

“Well, I went to the old ‘white guy in the YMCA’ shot. And I was lucky to make something happen.”

↵

↵Ah, the old white guy moves. Pretty much my only option on a basketball court—but it gets ‘em every time. And Nash, of course, is an old white guy, which is why his continued dominance — was there any doubt that he’d take, and make, the game winner last night? — is that much more remarkable. Just an all-around great player.
