While we await any new information about the status of Eli Manning’s injury, here is what he, and head coach Tom Coughlin, were saying after the game:
Giants in ‘Wait and See’ Mode on Manning’s Heel Injury
His initial fear? An injury to his Achilles tendon.“Any time you feel that kind of a little pull or strain, especially down there, you get nervous, you don’t know if it’s an Achilles or something,” Manning said. “It wasn’t that. I kind of knew after a second it wasn’t that. I could stand up, I could still walk around and put some pressure on it. I was more relieved after that.”
Asked if Manning could have continued — the Giants led 27-3 — Tom Coughlin said, “No, not at that point.”
Manning wasn’t as certain. “Depends on the situation,” he said. “I don’t know, maybe.” […]
“We’re going to have to see tomorrow,” Manning said. “I can walk around, I can move around but there is some discomfort. I don’t think it’s awful, I’ve been injured worse before. A lot will be when you wake up in the morning, the first step how it feels.”
