While on the Michael Kay Show, Eli confirmed the diagnosis of plantar fasciitis and had this to say about his feelings for playing next week:My gut feeling is always I’m going to play. When I hurt my shoulder two years ago and they told me I was going to be out for a month, I had a gut feeling I was going to play the next week…. Obviously, I want to play, but I have to be able to play well and make sure, if I’m in there, I’m putting our team in a situation where we can do everything, I can function, I can move in the pocket, I can make plays and it’s going to be for the best for the team – not just so that I’m out there.

I would imagine in this case that if Eli wants to play, he is going to play. David Carr managed the final few minutes of the game against the Chiefs but would not be the optimal situation for the Giants.
