Cowboys WR Williams Misses Week of Practice, Officially Out Sunday

Despite the fact that Cowboys WR Roy Williams practiced every day this week, head coach Wade Phillips is not so sure the team’s putative top wideout will be on the field on Sunday, according to the Dallas Morning News.

An insider for the Kansas City Chiefs, the Cowboys’ opponent tomorrow, is reporting that neither WR Roy Williams nor RB Felix Jones was on the team’s charter flight to Kansas City, and both are officially out for tomorrow’s game vs. the winless Kansas City Chiefs.

Todd Archer of the Dallas Morning News reports that Cowboys head coach Wade Phillips has not ruled out WR Roy Williams for Sunday’s game in Kansas City. However, Phillips does not sound optimistic about Williams’ chances:

This would leave Patrick Crayton as the Cowboys No. 1 WR. Luckily for Dallas, they’re playing Kansas City this week.

Cowboys WR Roy Williams missed practice for the second consecutive day on Thursday due to his injured ribs, and looks questionable for the team’s Week 5 game against the Chiefs, according to the Dallas Morning News.

On Wednesday Williams said he still hopes to play this week, although that seems unlikely if he is unable to practice. We’ll keep you updated on his status at practice on Friday, leading up to kickoff on Sunday.

Williams was injured after being hit in the mid-section while attempting to reach out for an overthrown pass across the middle of the field.
