Here’s what you need to know about fantasy injuries going into week 5.
Week 5 Fantasy: Preliminary Injury Report
Darren McFadden - The much-hyped running back tore the meniscus in his knee and will need surgery. He’ll miss 2-4 weeks.
Roy Williams - The Cowboys receiver has damaged cartilage in his ribs and could miss the Sunday game against the Chiefs.
Eli Manning - Has plantar fasciitis. It’s unknown whether he will play this week, but Eli says he’s planning to play. The injury is a painful one and has kept players out of games, or made them limited in games if they play with it. Since Eli is a QB, it’s not as bad as it would be for a running back or receiver, who must push off hard on their feet while running. But it could affect Eli’s mobility and comfort-level while planting and throwing. We’ll just have to keep watch to see what happens as the week progresses.
Donovan McNabb - After sitting out a few weeks with cracked ribs, McNabb practiced with the Eagles on Monday. As of right now, it looks like he’ll be back this weekend, barring any setbacks.
Matt Hasselbeck - He’s expected to practice on Wednesday, although no one seems sure if he’ll be able to play this weekend.
Jared Gaither - He protects Joe Flacco and helps make the Ravens run game go at left tackle. He suffered a neck injury on Sunday and had to be taken to the hospital. But, all signs look good and he could potentially play this week or possibly miss a couple of weeks. That’s great news. Also to note about the Ravens, LB Brendon Ayanbadejo tore his quad and is now on IR.
Matt Stafford - Dislocated knee cap that has him day-to-day. Check back after Wednesday’s practice to see if he participated.
