Perhaps you already noticed this, but I did not: There were no 20-game winners this season. This was the first time in the history of baseball that no pitcher won 20 games (excluding shortened seasons).
But Without Any 20-Game Winners, How Can There Be a Cy Young?

So this raises the question: How can the BBWAA vote for a Cy Young winner when no pitcher reached their most coveted yet totally irrelevant statistical milestone? I guess they’ll just have to default to the second most important stat: clutchness. Followed by “intangibles” if all else fails.
