The Triangle Offense Will Work If Your Players Are Good

This season, the Minnesota Timberwolves have lived and died (mostly died; they’re 1-9) by the triangle offense. Our Wolves blog, Canis Hoopus, explains why the triangle offense isn’t effective when applied to a team thin on talent:

↵↵Ultimately, the big secret about the TO is that it’s more about on-court ego management than anything else.

↵[...] On the flip side of this equation is the Wolves. They are so untalented that it really doesn’t matter what they choose to run, it will look like poo.

↵↵The rest of the post, which is well worth reading, goes on to explain why the Wolves are bad at basketball. So bad, in fact, that they were pre-empted in their home television market by Friday night boxing. Sad face.
