At 2-7, the Washington Wizards need help, and they’re getting it at the perfect time.
Jamison Expected To Play Wednesday Against Cleveland
The Washington Times is reporting that Antawn Jamison is expected back in the lineup for tomorrow’s key game against the Cavaliers.
The Washington Wizards had a completely healthy Antawn Jamison back on the practice court for the first time in five weeks, and he is expected to make his season debut Wednesday when the Cleveland Cavaliers come to town.
The two-time All-Star power forward, who in the past two seasons has led the Wizards in both scoring and rebounding, missed the last two weeks of the preseason and all nine of the Wizards’ regular-season games with a partially dislocated right shoulder.
Jamison’s injury occurred on October 14, and he was expected to miss 4-6 weeks from that date.
Without Jamison, the Wizards’ two big guns, Gilbert Arenas and Caron Butler, have gotten off to slow starts. Arenas is still trying to balance being a scorer and a facilitator, while Butler is struggling mightily with his shot. The Wizards hope Jamison’s ability to spread the floor and take on part of the scoring load can get both their games going.
