Purdue’s Lewis Jackson Out Indefinitely After Foot Surgery

No. 7 Purdue's depth took a major hit Tuesday, as starting point guard Lewis Jackson underwent foot surgery.

He suffered the injury during the Boilermakers' Thursday practice. Jackson didn't figure in Friday's win against Cal State Northridge, as he sat that game out for playing in an unsanctioned event during the offseason. He also missed the Boilers' two exhibition games as punishment for an offseason arrest.

Expect seniors Chris Kramer and Keaton Grant, along with freshman Kelsey Barlow, to see plenty of time running Purdue’s offense in Jackson’s absence.

Jackson's foot injury is the second one to impact a Big Ten school this week. Northwestern's chances at a first ever NCAA bid suffered a major blow when senior forward Kevin Coble elected to have season-ending foot surgery on Sunday.
