Cardinals’ Boldin Sets Franchise Record, Reinjures Ankle

Anquan Boldin became the Arizona Cardinals receptions leader on Sunday catching his 536th and 537th passes, surpassing FB Larry Centers, reports the Arizona Republic.

But the record came at a cost as he aggravated a right ankle sprain that has hampered him the past two weeks. Boldin left the game in the third quarter and did not return. Said head coach Ken Wisenhunt of the injury:

“The one issue we had going into the game was if he took a shot on that ankle. As low of probability of that happening, it did happen. It’s hard when you lose him in the game, because you only have so many receivers that are active. That’s what makes it difficult.”

No word yet on the extent of the injury or Boldin’s status for Week 9 when the Cardinals travel to Chicago.
