Checking In With Le Moyne College

You might remember Le Moyne College from previous acts such as “token small school to shock a big school in exhibition season.” The Division-II school beat Syracuse at the Carrier Dome 62-59 on November 3, a win guard Chris Johnson described as the “best feeling I ever had in my life.”

↵How have they been doing since? Pretty well, actually. Le Moyne has won its first two regular-season games, including a 88-64 rout of conference rival Southern Connecticut State on Wednesday. Johnson, who hit the game-winning shot against Syracuse, poured in 22 points to lead the way.

↵Le Moyne was picked to finish fourth in the preseason Northeast-10 Conference poll, but maybe it’s time we start acknowledging that they’re for real. After all, it’s not like Merrimack College can say they have a win over a Top-25 Division I team.
