As curses go, this one’s a strange one.
Phoenix’s TNT Curse Lives On
The Phoenix Suns have been one of the NBA’s most successful teams over the past several years. They’ve won at least 46 games in every season since 2004/05 and have made the playoffs every year except for 2008/09. But for some reason, the Suns cannot win when their game is broadcasted on TNT.
As Suns.com points out, last Thursday's loss to the Hornets was the Suns’ 16th straight on TNT, dating back to previous seasons. The Suns have four more TNT games this season, so if the curse continues, the streak could reach 20 by season’s end.
I think we’ve reached the point where this curse needs a name. Maybe Charles Barkley is still annoyed the Suns traded him to the Rockets. “Curse O’ the Round Mound of Rebound?” Doesn’t have the same ring as, say, “Curse O’ Les Bullez,” but I guess it works.
