Roethlisberger Leaves Game With ‘Concussion-Oriented Thing’

Steelers quarterback Ben Roethlisberger, who threw for 398 yards in Arrowhead Stadium against the Chiefs, left the game in the fourth quarter after a hard hit. The Associated Press quotes coach Mike Tomlin:

The Super Bowl champs, with Charlie Batch replacing a shaken-up Ben Roethlisberger in overtime, had to punt on their first possession in OT. Steelers coach Mike Tomlin said Roethlisberger's injury was a "concussion-oriented thing."

[...] Roethlisberger, who wobbled off the field under his own power, threw for 398 yards and three touchdowns.

In overtime, backup Charlie Batch managed the Steelers’ offense, which was forced to punt. The Chiefs later won 27-24. Stay tuned for more news on Roethlisberger and what this means for the Steelers, who have already likely lost safety Troy Polamalu for the next three games.
