In Which We Learn That Steve Spurrier Once Won A Heisman Trophy

So, Tim Tebow might want to go into coaching. This sounds like the perfect job for him. But that’s not really what I learned from Andy Hutchins’ excellent post on the matter at the Sporting Blog. Rather, I learned that among current college coaches who also played college football, Steve Spurrier has the best resume on both fronts. To wit:

↵↵1. Steve Spurrier. Remember, the Ol’ Ball Coach did win a Heisman back in the day. His path from Florida Heisman-winner to Florida coach would probably be Tebow’s ideal arc, if he chooses to coach.

↵↵Wait, timeout. Spurrier won a Heisman trophy? Like, Steve Spurrier? And ... yep. It’s true. You know how people say “you learn something new every day”? On the Internet, you learn something new every 30 seconds.

↵And retain none of it! For example, did you know that ... hey, new Nike shoes came out but Call of Duty Modern Wafare War In Afghanistan ooh look at that cute little otter! Wait, what was I talking about?
