Eh, not quite. That’s not even my opinion. That’s the word at Pinstripe Alley, where Ed Valentine is taking a critical look at some of the Yankees’ dynasty’s most tenured players and whether or not they belong in the Hall. As for Posada? Valentine compares Posada’s numbers with other modern catchers like Gary Carter, and they fall just a bit short. Meanwhile, Valentine’s other test -- whether Posada was the dominant catcher of his era -- doesn’t do Jorge any favors, either, given Ivan Rodriguez’s otherworldy career. Posada is an awfully good catcher, but at least in this summation, he doesn’t look likely to get in the Hall of Fame.
Jorge Posada, Hall Of Famer?
↵Then again, he is a True Yankee, and he has five World Series wins, and this is the BBWAA we’re talking about ... so, you know, anything’s possible.
