The Lack Of Light Heavyweight Challengers

Kid Nate of Bloody Elbow takes a solid look at the unusual 205 pound problem in the UFC. It’s an incredibly deep division with a lot of top level talent but the fact that there is so much skill means that challengers keep bumping each other off and leaving the division without a clear title challenger past “Shogun” Rua.

↵In the post is a video of Thiago Silva who claims that he should get the title shot if he beats Rashad Evans. Of course, Silva was bulldozed by current champion Lyoto Machida, so it’s hard to put him in a title fight right now.

↵The division will sort itself out in the end, but for right now it is quite the mess.
