Sad, sad news this afternoon. The owner of the Washington Wizards (and the Washington Capitals), Abe Pollin, has passed away at the age of 85 according to the Washington Times.

↵Pollin has owned the Washington Wizards for more than 45 years, and was considered an institution among Washington D.C. sports and entrepreneurs. He was also the majority shareholder of Washington Sports and Entertainment, which owns the Wizards, as well as Washington’s Verizon Center.
