Via the Breaking News twitter account comes reports that Tiger Woods has been in a “serious” car accident near his Orlando home.

According to the Orlando Sentinel, Woods left his house at 2:25 AM in his Cadillac Escalade, before hitting a fire hydrant, and then continuing into a neighbor’s tree. The Florida Highway Patrol said that Woods’ airbag did not deploy, which means that he was traveling under 33 MPH at the time of the accident.
A call to the Orange Country Fire Rescue went out at 2:28 AM, and Woods was transported to the Health Central Hospital in serious condition.
As of 2:30 PM on Friday afternoon, an official at the hospital said that Woods was not a patient. Police are still investigating, and say charges are pending.
