Major League Baseball commissioner Bud Selig will reportedly step down as commissioner once his contract expires in 2012
Bud Selig To Retire In 2012, Might Teach History
↵↵According to sources, five owners approached Selig in an attempt to persuade him to remain on the job but it’s reported that Selig wants to peruse other projects that include writing a book and/or teaching history.
↵↵Given that he’s 75 years old and has served as commissioner/acting commissioner for longer than anyone else in the game save for Kennesaw Mountain Landis, this isn’t much of a surprise, but a history class taught by Selig ought to be a doozy.
↵“I am committed to midterm testing. In order to preserve the integrity of this class, it’s important that we do so. I apologize that you neither passed nor failed the previous test and that I declared it a tie. Hold on, there’s a booger in my nose. Class dismissed. Actually, maybe class isn’t dismissed. Actually, I don’t know. Oops, more boogers. There are so many boogers in my nose.”
