Seton Hall Beats VMI, 134-107 In Real-Life Video Game

Forget about fourth-ranked Kentucky getting more of a game than they bargained for in Bloomington. Pay no mind to No. 22 Butler finally getting a win over a ranked team. It appears the place to be this afternoon was Newark, N.J., where Seton Hall found themselves in a shootout with the always fun to watch VMI Keydets.

↵The final score: Pirates 134, Keydets 107.

↵Yes, you read that right. As usual, Jeremy Hazell provided scoring punch for the Pirates, providing 33, including six threes, but he’s not the real story.

↵Guard Jamel Jackson scored 40 for the Hall, going 14 of 17 from the floor, including 12 of 15 from beyond the arc. On Twitter, there was some talk of Jackson breaking the Division I record for threes in a game, 15, which Marshall’s Keith Veney set 13 years ago Monday. Of course, as soon as that talk started, Jackson’s chance at the record pretty much evaporated.

↵For that, the Twitterverse apologizes to you, Mr. Jackson.

↵In the meantime, Bobby Gonzalez may want to work on his team’s defense a bit more before Big East play tips off on December 26. West Virginia won’t be as kind as VMI.
