DeMarcus Ware Could Play This Week Against The Saints

Despite suffering a frightening neck injury in Sunday’s loss to San Diego (and seemingly despite earlier reports to the contrary), Cowboys DE DeMarcus Ware could play in this Saturday’s showdown with the undefeated New Orleans Saints. This from the Fort Worth Star-Telegram:

Ware has not been ruled out of Saturday’s game against the New Orleans Saints.

Ware, who was taken the hospital for evaluation and released late Sunday night, has officially been diagnosed with a strained neck.

He is listed as day to day and could play Saturday, although the short week is a detriment.

“It’s day to day so there is a possibility,” coach Wade Phillips said. “He took quite a hit, but he’s really bounced back really strong. That’s encouraging for him and us. He came back a lot better (Monday) so we will just have to see.”

Without Ware, the highest paid player in Cowboys’ history, the reeling Cowboys will likely struggle to defend the Saints’ high-powered offense.
