Penn Fires Coach Glen Miller After 0-7 Start
Two sources told the Daily News that the change had been in the works for several days. Penn has posted a 0-7 record this season. It was Miller’s fourth season leading the Quakers. He took over for Fran Dunphy in 2006 and led Penn to the Ivy League title and a 22-9 record in his first year. However, the Quakers have gone 22-36 over the past two seasons.
Miller will be replaced by assistant coach Jerome Allen. Allen is a former Penn great who played professionally in the NBA and in Europe.
Penn Athletic Director Steve Bilsky will formally announce the change in a 1:30 p.m. conference call.
