Philadelphia Eagles' rookie wide receiver Jeremy Maclin left Sunday night's shootout with the Giants because of lingering plantar fasciitis, according to the Philadelphia Inquirer:
Eagles’ Wide Receiver Jeremy Maclin Has Dreaded Plantar Fasciitis
“Maclin tore his plantar fascia,” Coach Andy Reid said. “That’s a week or two injury so we’ll see how he does as we go, but he’ll be fine.”
How the injury will affect Maclin's best attribute -- his speed -- when he returns remains to be seen. With Maclin out Reggie Brown and Jason Avant should get more touches, and the Eagles may try to see if the injured Kevin Curtis can play.
