December 14 - Chattanooga, TN (Sports Network) - Gani Lawal poured in 29 points on 8-of-8 shooting from the field, as No. 22 Georgia Tech upended Chattanooga, 95-64, in its first true road test of the season.

Lawal also made 13-of-19 from the foul line, while Derrick Favors finished with a double-double of 14 points and 10 rebounds for the Yellow Jackets (7-1), winners of six straight since their loss to Dayton on November 19.

Glen Rice scored 11 points, while Maurice Miller and Mfon Udofia each added 10 in the lopsided win.

Ty Patterson logged 22 points behind 6-of-12 shooting from beyond the arc, and Keegan Bell netted 13 points for the Mocs (5-5), who had won three of four coming into the game.

Chattanooga was actually on top 8-2 early after three-pointers from Patterson and Josh Odem. The Mocs went the next four minutes without a field goal though, as Georgia Tech scored nine straight points to go in front.

It was a six-point game, 39-33, in favor of the visitors with just over 3 1/2 minutes left in the half, and Lawal’s three-point play sparked a 13-0 run.

Lawal had seven points during the stretch, and Miller capped the stanza with a late jumper for a 52-33 lead at intermission.

A dunk from Lawal and a Brian Oliver three-pointer off a turnover extended the margin to 24 early in the second half.

The difference never dipped below 20 from that point on.

Georgia Tech, which has won all but two of its 16 meeting against the Mocs, will next face Arkansas-Pine Bluff on Wednesday. Chattanooga plays at Murray State on Saturday.
