The Ottawa Senators received a big blow on Tuesday night when they learned that Jason Spezza will miss 6-8 weeks with a torn MCL in his right knee. An MRI on Tuesday night revealed the tear which occurred in the Senators 3-2 loss to the Leafs on Monday night.

On the plus side, this will force Spezza to rest, which may not be a bad thing. The time off could be what he needs to heal the nagging injury that has been bothering him for the majority of the season.
Spezza has struggled this season, but he had scored goals in two consecutive games when the injury occurred. The Sens called up Josh Hennessey from the Binghamton Senators of the American Hockey League to replace Spezza in the lineup.
