No. 18 Ohio State Cruises Past Presbyterian
December 16 - Columbus, OH (Sports Network) - David Lighty led all scorers with 20 points and grabbed six rebounds, as 18th-ranked Ohio State demolished Presbyterian, 78-48, at Value City Arena.
Jon Diebler and William Buford netted 12 and 11 points, respectively, for Ohio State (8-2), which was able to regroup after losing 74-66 to Butler on Saturday, its first full game without injured star swingman Evan Turner.
Dallas Lauderdale finished with 10 points and eight boards for the Buckeyes, who have won six of their last seven overall.
Walt Allen had a team-high 13 points, while Khalid Mutakabbir had nine points and eight rebounds for Presbyterian (2-9), which dropped a lopsided 103-64 decision to North Carolina on Saturday and has lost four in a row.
The contest was one-sided from the outset as Ohio State scored the first 14 points at the start, led by Diebler, who drained a pair of three-pointers. The Buckeyes' advantage quickly swelled to 33-9 after Kyle Madsen's jumper with nearly 8 1/2 minutes to play in the half and it was a 53-21 game at the break.
OSU didn’t back off in the second half as it ripped off an 11-4 run to start the stanza and built an insurmountable 64-25 lead five minutes in. The Blue Hose could never get on track and the outcome was never in doubt.
Ohio State improved to 2-0 in the all-time series with Presbyterian...The Buckeyes shot 53.7 percent from the field and made 9-of-21 from three-point range...Presbyterian finished 33.3 percent shooting and 7-of-21 from behind the arc...Madsen ended with six points and four rebounds.
