Royce White came to Minnesota this season to play basketball under lofty expectations. White never played a game for the Gophers but he certainly made quite an impressions in his short time with the team. In October he was arrested for shoplifting and shoving a security guard. By November he had been suspended indefinitely pending an investigation of a stolen laptop (hey, that’s UConn’s thing!).

↵Today, Royce capped off his impressive freshman season by quitting the team altogether. But not just in any old fashion. He did it via YouTube.

↵It’d be one thing if he just posted a video of himself making his announcement. But he actually took the time to create a title card, overlay music and film a three-and-a-half-minute intro scene. His future in basketball might be over but his future in gritty documentary work is extremely bright.
