The holiday season is supposed to be the lull in a college basketball team’s schedule, where players and coaches alike take it easy and breathe deeply before the long journey of conference season. It is the most wonderful time of the year, as the saying goes.
Nebraska Coach Doc Sandler Plays The Role Of The Grinch
↵Doc Sandler, though, will have none of your holiday cheer. The Nebraska coach called for a 5:30 a.m. practice this morning, which would be totally normal if this wasn’t the week of Christmas. And don’t worry, Nebraska players. Sandler plans on nailing you underachievers in the coming weeks.
↵↵“They’re going to wish they were back in school,” Sandler said. “We’re playing too many guys that have no idea what’s fixin’ to hit ‘em.”
↵↵In case you were wondering, Nebraska won their last game against Jackson State. It was Jackson State, and they only won by 15, but they did win the game. And as a wise man named Herm Edwards once said, you play to win the game.
