BYU’s men’s basketball team played its semifinal in the Las Vegas Classic today, hours before kickoff of the Las Vegas Bowl, where the Cougar football team will face Oregon State.
BYU Basketball Gives Cougar Football Its Vegas Target
↵Originally, both games were supposed to start at 5 p.m. Pacific, but the basketball tournament’s organizers moved the championship bracket games to the afternoon, switching the low-major consolation semifinals to the evening.
↵BYU fans can only hope the football team puts on half the show their hoops counterparts did. The Cougars shot 63.3 percent from the floor en route to a 110-104 win over Nevada.
↵Unfortunately, this shootout may not have reached that many televisions or computer screens. While this page from the BYU website says the game was to air on Full Court and ESPN360 today, it wasn’t listed as an online offering when I logged in not long after tipoff.
