Melvin Manhoef v. Kazuo Misaki at Dynamite!! 2009

The New Years Eve “Dynamite!! 2009” event has had a seventeenth bout announced:

The organizations today announced that Dutch slugger Melvin Manhoef (23-6-1) will face “The Grabaka Hitman,” Kazuo Misaki (22-9-2), in an MMA-rules contest.
...
Manhoef brings few secrets to the cage. With 22 of his 23 career victories earned by knockout or TKO in his 14-year career, Manhoef will likely be throwing bombs from the opening bell. While Manhoef was a 2008 DREAM middleweight grand prix semifinalist, he is currently just 1-2 in his past three bouts.
...
Meanwhile, Misaki enters the contest having won four of his past five contests. The lone loss during that stretch came to Jorge Santiago in a Sengoku middleweight title fight – a bout that Misaki was winning until being choked unconscious in the fifth and final round.

This is yet another very solid addition to a very solid card. Manhoef is looking to get his career going in the right direction again and Misaki is always a top level fighter. It will be very interesting to see if Melvin can keep on his feet where he is always just one strike away from finishing a fight.

The entire Dynamite!! 2009 card looks like this:
