Phil Davis To Make UFC Debut Against Brian Stann At UFC 109

According to the UFC website highly touted prospect Phil Davis will be making his UFC debut against Brian Stann in February. The fight will be a part of the UFC 109 event in Las Vegas, Nevada.

This is a very tough test for the 4-0 Davis as Stann is a former WEC champion and is on a two fight win streak over talented prospects Steve Cantwell and Rodney Wallace. In his fight with Wallace he was taken down multiple times but was able to scramble back to his feet and take over the fight with his striking.

This will likely be the plan against Davis, a multiple time NCAA champion. Phil comes in to this fight with his most recent win being over 5-4 David Baggett, a far cry from a fighter of Stann’s caliber. It will take a well executed fight plan for Davis to emerge with the win.
