Week 13 Thursday Game Start/Sit: Jets At Bills

The Thursday game this week is a matchup of AFC East rivals, the Jets and the Bills. Nominally, the Bills are the home team, but this game will be played in Toronto, Canada. That crazy global NFL!

So who are the good plays for this game?

Jets

Mark Sanchez - The rookie signal-caller’s last three games have been complete fantasy duds. You probably have a better option at QB, so use it.

Thomas Jones - Get Jones in your lineup. You can bet the Jets will want to run the ball given their passing game struggles, and the Bills defense is accommodating when it comes to opposing ball carriers. He’s a strong play this week.

Shonn Greene - Greene’s production in this game would largely depend on the Jets being able to secure a large lead so Greene could vulture valuable mop-up carries. That’s too risky.

Braylon Edwards, Jericho Cotchery - Given the state of the Jets passing game recently, it’s hard to recommend either Jets receiver. Absolutely play other options unless your WR corps is so terrible, that these are the better options.

Dustin Keller - Ditto Keller, but with TEs hard to get, if Keller is your main guy then you have to go with him.

Jets D - The Jets aren’t a terrible play, they probably will get some sacks from Buffalo’s terrible o-line. Unless the T.O./Fitzpatrick connection lights them up, they shouldn’t be that bad of a play.

Bills

Ryan Fitzpatrick - He’s got chemistry with T.O., but he needs a better line. Surely you have a better option.

Fred Jackson - It looks like Jackson has taken over as the main man in Buffalo. He would make for a low-end #2 or a good flex play this week.

Marshawn Lynch - It’s tough to recommend Lynch now that he looks like he’ll get backup touches. He wasn’t exactly lighting it up in the time-share, things won’t get any better with fewer carries.

Terrell Owens - T.O. has rebounded with some strong production in recent weeks, and seems to work well with new QB Fitzpatrick. But he’ll spend some time battling the Jets CB Darrelle Revis who has shut down receivers this year. Playing T.O. this week does come with risk, but you could do worse. All things equal, take a chance on a re-born T.O. in a national spotlight game.

Lee Evans - With T.O. hogging the passing production, Evans targets and catches are plummeting. Probably not a great play this week, although he had a good game battling the other Jets CB, Lito Sheppard, earlier this year. He could benefit if Revis and Owens tangle much of the night.

Buffalo D - I guess if they’re your best option, but don’t go out of your way to play them.
