The Philadelphia Eagles are a very strong team and are hoping for a long run in the playoffs. However, every team has needs. So let’s discuss my thoughts on the needs of the Eagles.
Philadelphia Eagles team needs
1. Linebacker
- The injury to Stewart Bradley left a gaping hole in the middle which has caused issues for this Eagles team. They also need to replace Chris Gocong/ Moise Fokou at the strong side linebacker position. The linebacker position is a very important part of the blitzing Eagles defense. If you recall they spent a lot of money to bring Dhani Jones in to help cover backs and tight ends. Bradley can play the strong side linebacker position so maybe drafting a middle linebacker is the right move.
2. Cornerback
- Both Asante Samuel and Sheldon Brown are pro bowl caliber cornerbacks. However there is some depth issues with this position. And just because Brown has been quite during the season doesn’t mean he is happy with his contract. There is a strong possibility that he is moved in the offseason.
3. Safety
- Quintin Mikell is a really good safety but there are question marks at the other safety position. Sean Jones has done a nice job but he is a free agent at the end of the season. They have Macho Harris who they drafted last season, but is he capable of being a major contributor?
